Thanks for the reply and perspective. I now see others asked the same or very similar question about SD and hair concerns. After I searched a bit more I found the attached resource which might have be helpful. Unfortunately, it is no longer available, but I will continue to learn a lot from the experiences people share here.

Hi Jason, for me, I lost about 1/2 my hair over the years, not all at once. I still have sebderm, but I think that my hair loss is minimal. Some people have said that their hair has grown back after the sebderm clears up. That's not my situation. I have also heard that sebderm never really goes away. Mine hasn't, but it does get better sometimes. When I stress out over something, it pops up again. I have never been without it completely.

Seborrheic dermatitis (SD) can lead to hair weakening, thinning, or falling out due to several factors:

- Inflammation: The inflammation associated with SD can damage hair follicles, leading to hair loss
- Scaling and Flaking: The buildup of scales and flakes can block hair follicles, affecting hair growth.
- Malassezia Show Full Answer

- Scaling and Flaking: The buildup of scales and flakes can block hair follicles, affecting hair growth.
- Malassezia Yeast: Overproduction of this yeast can irritate the scalp, contributing to hair issues.

If SD improves, these hair issues may also get better. It's important to manage SD effectively with the help of a healthcare provider.
