Greasy/oily Scalp
Hi everyone, I’m just curious to see if anyone out there are only having symptoms of greasy/oily scalp and no other symptoms such as rash, itching, flakes, etc. As I described on my page/post I was diagnosed with SD. I was diagnosed with Telogen effluvium which they say SD is a side effect from TE. Hi @A MySebDermTeam Member - thank you for sharing a bit of your story! I do experience oily hair, but on top of the itchiness and flakes. Don't be afraid to get a second opinion from a different dermatologist who specializes in sebderm. Love that you're doing your own research and being your own advocate! We know our bodies best!
I always like to do a mini interview with my doctors or their secretaries and ask questions like: "How many patients have you seen in the last month who have sebderm?" "What treatment options are currently working for your patients with sebderm?" "Have you published any medical research about sebderm?" Etc.
Are you just having oily/greasy scalp? Or other SD symptoms? As I mentioned I only have greasy scalp. I don’t want topical. Unless it helps with the greasy scalp and is safe for or won’t discolor my hair since I have it highlighted/ toned a blonde color. the Ketoconazole shampoo that seemed to make the greasiness worse. And left it a weird texture. And did discolor somewhat.
I called my doctor to tell him 😁that I needed something for it because it was getting worse and he went ahead and ordered a compound medication that I’m to put on my hair and then I go back into his office so he could see how I’m doing and we could figure out some some treatments.
I have the same issues and have had good results with CLN products, you can purchase through your Dermatologist or directly through their website, clnwash.com
