New Derma Doc Wants To Biopsy My Scalp For Diagnosis. Do I Go With Dirty Hair And Active Yuk? Or Wash First, Since I Can't After?

A MySebDermTeam Member asked a question 💭
Raleigh, NC

I only have the issue on the front of my scalp, near forehead. (Where it's most visible, of course) Biopsy spot and stitch will be somewhat visible. My hair is white and thin in this area.

Hi Van,
Welcome to the SebDerm social website. I have it on my hairline also, and I went to the dermdoc with it "active". That way, they can see what you're talking about easier and biopsy the exact location. If I had to go out after, I would wear a hat with a brim I.e. baseball perhaps! I hope everything goes well. Good luck!☘️

Thanks, Kathleen. Going to call about it today. Hopefully the scheduler will know what the doctor prefers. But, I think you are right!
