What Advice Are You Grateful To Share With Others About Seborrheic Dermatitis?
I would say it takes a lot of patience and trial and error. What works for one doesn't work for all. I would advise trying the different dandruff shampoo out there. There is an article that n here, but the big ones are head and shoulders (bare is what I'm trying right now, but only tried it 3 times so still testing it out), Selson Blue, etc. There are a few others. Leave it in for a few mins. before rinsing out. If they don't work go to a dermatologist and they can have you try a prescription one. I've been to a dermatologist and was prescribed a shampoo as well as a cream and foam, but I want what will be the most gentle for my hair so I'm seeing if I can back off from about 2 days a week to 1 with just the prescription shampoo, but if I start really itching bad I will go back to 2 days a week. I was itching even with the prescription so I'm trying to be patient with a little itch at first and know I'm not going to be 100% at first with anything. We will see how it goes. Wash hair every other day. Daily may make it even more dry. I'm also new to this diagnosis within the past couple months. It's been hard.
I was given a steroid to apply to my scalp at night and it has really helped. Ketoconazole Shampoo and Clobetasol steroid together has mine under control most of the time.
Hair grows back but I go through this losing at least twice a year. I think a lot of my anxiety and depression is this. Now I started Plaquenil for autoimmune. Hoping hair doesn't fall out more.
I need to talk about this issue I'm having. I have a pic of this as well.
Terry, good news it will grow back. Thank goodness for that!
