I would say toothpaste is a hazard IF swallowed. When I have a 'blonde moment" I like to joke that I drank the water AND swallowed the toothpaste! lol Just kiddin, blondes. I love everybody! :)

PROXIDE and baking soda is very natural too, you could put a drop of peppermint for taste buds.

Sounds like you are having a reaction to one of the ingredients in the toothpaste which could be the sodium lauryl sulfate or something else

I definitely have been an advocate of good toothpaste without a lot of chemicals as they irritate my mouth.. I do want to use one with fluoride which of course is questionable but one of the main ingredients to avoid in toothpaste is sodium lauryl sulfate.. even some of the mainstream brands are taking that out of their product.. they're also are a few other ingredients that you could check out online
