Hood morning, I know you're not crazy. With Seb. Derm the skin is shedding at a much higher level than without it. The dead skin you speak of is annoying and it feels like it's unclean or dirty. Its a lot of inflammation constantly also and the normal yeast in human skin finds the skin oil-Sebum a really delicious way to thrive and replicate also. So it does. I too do not understand that this is not a priority for the medical profession to control. It's clearly every bit as debilitating as Psoriasis or other inflammatory skin conditions.
Washing the bedding is important but I assure you that family or others you live do flip out about you wanting to wash things so often. They think it is wasteful and that you're being OCD. I remember at first I saw black dots everywhere. I was confused. I used every topical I could find legally. It did not touch it. The Dermatologist and every other doctor I saw acted like I was crazy when I showed them the weird squiggly white areas under the skin or on it?
I am very sorry your having to be so firm when asking for help from the medical profession. Some people are taking immune suppressors for this condition I am noticing. I am a nurse and I researched a lot and I was taking a drug called Methotrexate for 3 months in 2009 when I had the first flare up which melted the stuff off. But it is very bed for humans to use that drug for such a reason. This time it began in 2018 after a serious illness hit me and I could not work anymore. In 2023 it hit me harder and caused these elevated lesions of the skin. I saw 7 doctors and none of them told me what it was. One gave me a Steroid cream and told me to use it on hairline and that was really the only one that even acknowledged anything abnormal. But you know there are some doctors who are more aggressive in treating this. I know its a pain in the arse but check around, talk to others and try to find a doctor who will help you. Take care of yourself and know this will wax and wane and that it takes a long time to get it under control. I think the reason they do not prescribe strong meds is that the effects on the body are not gentle. Know you are not alone and reach out to chat if you want to. I see people isolatomg themselves and I do the same thing. Its unhealthy for us mentally but its embarrassing. Ots a bit of a change in the way you take care of your skin. Keep persistent. Doctors get paid a lot of money and then do nothing. It makes you feel like you wasted your money and time seeing them.Anyway have a nice day and do not give up.

My dermatologist wrote a prescription for Zorvye. AND it really works but super expensive but I don't care as long as it works. It's a foam.
