Has Anyone Noticed Beanies Make Your Sebderm Worse?
I was trying to avoid washing my hair every single day, so I covered up with a beanie over the weekend, and noticed I had significantly more flakes than if I just wash daily, blow dry immediately, and let my scalp "breathe." Disappointed if it's true, because some days it feels easier to just hide under a hat or beanie.
@A MySebDermTeam Member I see, I knew I wasn’t imagining it! My condition starts getting out of control around October.
Hats can make your scalp sweat, which increases the oil production. I’d recommend a dry shampoo without toxic chemicals on non-wash days. One that won’t cause buildup, so your scalp can breathe still!
Oh absolutely! I had a doctor tell me that when you wear a hat (like all winter) it holds all the moisture inside and so makes yeast worse, and since it's a condition probably related to yeast, it gets worse if you wear hats a lot.
Direct sunshine help minimize it on my scalp. I used to wear a hat all the time now I rarely wear one and my scalp has been better in the summer but flares up more in winter when there is less sun
Thank you, but I just picked up a dry shampoo powder today! I will post about how it ends up working for me. 😁
