Seborrheic dermatitis is more common in people with HIV due to their weakened immune systems. The exact cause of seborrheic dermatitis isn't clear, but it's believed to be related to an immune response to Malassezia yeast on the skin. This response can cause yeast overgrowth, inflammation, and symptoms of seborrheic dermatitis.
